We went to dinner with our friends Sherri and Lee Coursey. We were told that the wait for a table was 40 minutes and we observed empty seats at the bar so we accepted the wait time.  After a few minutes at the bar I recognized the bartender as Raphael, the bartender from Sala. We had a very nice visit with him and when we were notified that our table was ready we chose to remain at the bar for dinner. The personal service provided by Raphael was the deciding factor.

Margaritas were very good although they do not make frozen. I think that Raphael may have added some extra Tequila because two margaritas were more than enough. Beth and I had the equivalent of a Texas. Margaritas were a little pricey in the $8-11 range.

We ordered guacamole and queso with jalapeños both dishes were very good. The chips were average.

I am on a quest for good tamales and Raphael said that theirs were fresh; hand made every day and delivered to the restaurant by a local woman. They were very good. I ordered one pork and one chicken. They were large and filled the bill without a side dish.

Beth ordered beef quesadillas, which were very good. Lee had carnitas and Sherri had chicken quesadillas.  Lee thought the carnitas were some of the best he’s had and Sherri also like her quesadillas.

At the end of the night Raphael treated us to watermelon tequila shots.

The company was great, dinner was great, margaritas were great and the setting was very nice. The restaurant is located in what was once a house and there are multiple dining areas. We will definitely return.
